Answering the age old question... [Video]

[It's been a topic of debate around many bachelorette parties and girls' nights out. More than a few boys' nights out, too. Not to mention a few villainous meet ups.]

[Just what DOES the Bat wear under that suit?]

[The mirror shows a man in his late twenties, possibly very early thirties, wearing a thin t-shirt and boxer shorts. Blue boxer shorts with a red S in a shield. Very similar to the symbol somebody else wears as well. His black hair and blue eyes are similar to somebody else, too.]

[He looks surprisingly unperturbed by everything at the moment.]

So. This is not what I was expecting when I thought I heard something in the living room. Instead of an intruder, I've got...an entire forest? Pretty sure I missed something big.

[Nobody needs to know about the suit of black armor that he's had to leave behind. Whatever's happening here took the "Dark Knight" moniker a bit too seriously. If the cape had been impossible to work with, the entire suit was more than he could deal with now.]

[He'd cope. And the story at least gave him a plausible reason for having his escrima sticks with him.]

[Taking a closer look a Dick, Nog does recognize the logo on his boxers. Which means it's probably a good idea to clarify a few things.]

Also, judging by your underwear? Yes, I am a Ferengi. Yes, I am Starfleet officer. No, those two things aren't mutually exclusive, and no, this isn't a costume.

[ The mirror is directed at the ground because, while the outfit that he appeared in was warped enough by the magic for Tim to feel reasonably okay with wearing pieces of it (sans mask), Dick will never let Tim live down the hero worship/inspo. ]

Step one, wake up.
Step two, get dressed.
Step three, fall down the rabbit hole. I don’t see what you missed.

I was in my apartment. I didn't think I NEEDED pants.

[The question IS on the tip of his tongue, but the guy answers it before he can utter it. There's a moment before he nods and shrugs.]

Last I had seen, there were a lot of races that only had one or two representatives in Starfleet. Though I can't say I'm an expert. Glad to meet you.

[Okay, Tim is being a little weird, but there's no denying the relief at hearing his little brother's voice.]

[Considering the last time they'd really talked had been a fight, well...even better that Tim's actually talking to him.]

Cloak would be appreciated. At least whatever brought me here warped my slippers into something wearable.

[Even knights had leather boots under their greaves. Pretty much the only bit of the armor he could feasibly take with him, along with a few small items. But that's something to be talked about in person.]

[ Really, though, when isn’t Tim being a little weird? ]

Are you in the camp, the town, or back in the woods?

[ He’s already up and looking for Dick, hoping to find him before he joins traveling minstrel show. In the meantime, he should probably reinforce his flimsy excuse of a secret identity. ]

Superboy thought the best way to introduce himself was by calling me a weird little troll. I thought it'd be a good idea to head off any more potential awkwardness.

[No he was not going to let that go.]

[Jennifer has, of course, missed the point.]

From what I remember of Superboy, that sounds about right.

[This is true. Then again, they're all a bit weird. Comes with being a Bat.]

Woods. I seem to have gotten a bit turned around, really.

[More taking the lay of the land, but Tim would certainly understand that.]

[The cheerfulness gets a raised eyebrow though.]

I can't believe that I'M here, so I'm sure I'm not going to believe this, either.

[Of all the things that Dick's expecting, that's...not one of them. He blinks a few times before the eyebrow goes up.]

I have no idea. But I meant the living room in my apartment. Back in Gotham. Before I found myself here.

“Woods” doesn’t exactly narrow it down. I’ll try to find you, but something doesn’t want us to wander too far from camp, so I might end up right back where I started.

[ That sounds neutral and not-terrifying, right? Because getting teleported back to the group is jarring. ]

And Superboy is here! So there’s no need to worry.

I just got here. I'm afraid 'woods' is as good as it gets.

[Still, once he hears that there's something that doesn't want people to wander away from camp, Dick starts following that feeling.]

[He does stop a moment, looking at the mirror with...a not quite blank look but almost uncertain. Kon hasn't returned for him, yet, so it takes a moment for it to filter through properly. Then, at least outwardly, he seems to cheer up.]

Really? Well, that's good news. You'll have to tell me all about it when you find me.

[ With Tim not holding the mirror so that he’s visible, he also can’t see the exact look.

But he knows Dick, and that they’re going to have a conversation once the magic mirrors aren’t needed anymore. They were going to talk anyway. ]

Yep. So now I can prove he’s shorter than he looks on tv.

[Oh, there's definitely going to be some discussion once Tim finds him. Kon is just a good entry.]

I mean, he's still taller than you.

[He was taller than Dick, too, but he's not going to be the one to point that out. Just a little light teasing of his little brother.]

[Something he hasn't had the chance to do lately.]

Thank you. Though I do wish that whatever brought me here had allowed me to grab some pants.

[ Tim has reached the edge of the woods, so the wildly swinging view of the ground may start to show signs of thickening undergrowth. ]

E tu, Brute? I’m a normal height when I’m not surrounded by giants.

[ Tromping around in the woods is a good way to get lost or mauled by a bear. ]

I’m starting to wonder if Marco Polo is faster.

[That makes Dick snort.]

Hardly a giant.

[He keeps moving toward the edge of the woods.]

I'm not opposed. MARCO!

[Though how useful that is when the mirror carries his voice as well? Hard to tell.]

[ You can just hear that he knows how to spell it. ]

This is a ridiculous idea.

[ But he actually thinks he did hear something further off than the mirror he’s carrying. This is apparently the thing they’re doing now. He sighs and cups his free hand around his mouth. ]

Polo!

[ Loud, but with less gusto. ]

[Neither of them have super hearing or any other powers to be able to find each other. So, shouting it is.]

[Work with what you have. It's the Bat way.]

Okay, I think I heard that. [He adjusts his trajectory a bit.] Man, I'm hoping it doesn't get too cold here.

You certainly did. Consider yourself fortunate you got here after we all got done running for our lives.

[But that's fine, because there probably will be more mortal danger in the future. Still, Ange says that a tad sardonically because she wishes she had been as lucky as this guy]

It's alright, I am not wearing trousers either.

[She gets up to show herself on the mirror. The skirt of her dress is still relatively long, but she figures it might still count as not pants.]

[ So that they don’t start chasing each other in circles, Tim stops and waits, occasionally giving louder calls of polo. ]

It hasn’t been too bad, yet, but you’re going to want more clothes. We got chased out of the town by phantoms and steampunk automatons. Polo!

[The last one, Tim is able to hear his own shout from Dick's side of the mirror.]

Okay, that's starting to echo a bit, so I think we must be close. I'll see you in a minute.

[There's a lot of stuff that needs to be said without being overheard. Which is why Dick collapses the size of the mirror...or it does it to itself, hard to tell. Then follows the direction of that last Polo until he finds Tim, giving him a quick glance over before pausing and taking in the uniform in a more deliberate sweep.]

Well. [Pause.] At least yours is still wearable.

I'm pretty sure your outfit is meant to be like that.

[Dick just give a grin, though.]

But thank you. I'll do my best not to feel bad about it.
