[He's practiced. Ever since the whole thing with the castle with the waterfall showing others their memories and all. Miles still might mess up and be incredibly nervous about this, but. He figures he might as well. Since some people here already know. May as well get it over with. Get it out there. At least here. So if people need him, his abilities, he can help. Or something like that.

Back home might be a different story, but even so. He appears in the suit, giving a slightly awkward wave and sighing before glancing to the mirror.]

So uh. Hey? Some of you already saw, with the memories. Already know but. I may as well come clean. In case anyone needs me. My help with something. But...

[And here, he takes a deep breath before pulling off the mask. He bites his lower lip briefly, a sheepish look at his features. He's so nervous about this, remembering Pete's advice to never let anyone see it is him. But at the same time, there are other superheroes here. They can help. They opened up about it.]

It's me. Miles. Spider-Man. If anyone needs me to get them somewhere quickly, or needs some help sneaking around - I can turn invisible, or electrocuting something to get it working maybe? I'm still figuring proper control with it all and especially here, but. I think I've mostly got it now. I've only been at it a few days, but. I want to help. Where I can. If I can. I just haven't yet had a chance to get what I need to make more web fluid.

[He pouts slightly, frowning at his web shooters at his wrists before shrugging and giving a small wave as he turns the feed off.]

What do you need for the web fluid?

It's not stuff I've had access to so far being in the dessert and the elves place and all. Or with the castle. Yet. The castle might have been the best chance for it with having something like a lab set up. Sort of. I recently just before I ended up here got some web shooters so that isn't an immediate problem, but. Eventually, that's going to run out. So I won't be able to swing around or use it to restrain anyone causing trouble unless I can make more. I've been trying to make do without using the webbing too much for the time being until I know I can figure more.

I think the one that gave me the web shooters said it was something like salicylic acid, toulene, methanol, carbon tetrachloride, potassium carbonate, and ethyl acetate? Something like that. From her going through our Spider-Man's stuff and all. I was gonna check in with her back home to get her to go over it with me proper when I had the chance, obviously, but.....

[Well. Being stuck here that isn't an option.]

Oh, is that all? We're ... not really in the right century for that level of chemistry. Even if we thought we could source them, I'd be worried about the concentrations being pure enough, and it doesn't sound like you know the exact formula. Chances of something going boom are high.

[ Tim wants to see that everyone is appropriately equipped for their skills, but this one will be tough. ]

I'm planning on having a grappling hook made, if we find a good blacksmith. I got a lot of rope from the Elves to use with it. It might not be exactly what you're after, but it would give you some additional mobility in the right settings. It's not going to be as good as what I'm used to, but fabricating the parts would be pretty much impossible.

Yeah. That's why I've been trying to be careful on swinging around too much or anything. Yet. Until I know for sure I'll get a chance to make more. If I get the chance. I don't know on trying to make more from it yet since we haven't really been able to access what I'd need.

[Miles agrees, sighing and getting a slight pout of frustration to his lips. He runs a hand through his hair.]

The grappling hook might at least work to help get around quicker though, yeah! Once we figure someone to help make something like that. Once I figure how to use it. But if I figured the whole swinging with the webs thing it can't be that hard.

Conservation of resources isn't a bad idea - you should make sure Nog knows about the list of chemicals that you're looking for, too. I believe he's the self-designated quartermaster. You don't have to let him requisition your webs though.

I can teach you how to throw the hook. If you can already support your bodyweight while swinging, you're halfway there. If you can catch your falling weight, even better. The hard part will be learning if the line feels securely anchored.

I figure it might be similar enough to swinging that I might pick it up easily enough. Just, might take a little adjusting to it not being with the web shooters. Once you figure the grappling hooks though, I'd be keen to try. But yeah, I guess that might take a bit, with the webs it's kinda more instinct now I've gotten more used to it. Mostly. When I figured out my powers and initially went to practice I kinda chickened out with the heights of the buildings. This Spider-Man from another dimension, he taught me. In the woods. There was definitely a learning curve with one of the branches I tried to web to breaking.

I think we all feel a little nervous the first time we jump off a building. It's not something you're supposed to do.

When we were in Rivendell, Dick found a bunch of vines that he could use to swing out over the canyon. I think he scared at least five people into fainting.

Not usually. No.

But -- yeah? I guess if people weren't expecting it, yeah. It would probably freak them out. I was lucky, that so far nobody seems to have freaked out watching me crawl up or along the sides of the buildings for a better look to keep an eye out on patrol.

People don't look up half as much as you'd expect. If you get a dark enough uniform, particularly on the back... you might never get spotted at night, if you keep out of direct lighting.

Swinging over a canyon in broad daylight off a balcony that people use though.

[ Tim sighs. ]

The only excuse that I can offer is that he actually did grow up in the circus.

My costume is black and red. Mostly black. So that shouldn't be a problem. I don't think.

[He figures saying that much isn't so bad. Given everyone knows, now. His is darker than Peter's, than Gwen's that he should have an easier time with the stealth, his invisibility aside.]

Heh. Yeah, I know about that. Sounds like he had quite a life even just from the things here and there I've gathered.

Mine too. It's a good look.

[ Tim shakes his head. ]

That... still sounds so strange to say openly. I can't believe I'm talking about uniforms and Dick's life in the same conversation. You want to change the topic back to you?

It is. The other Spiders with their blue and red seemed a bit too bright for me. Gotta stand out and be me, you know?

[Miles says with a smirk, a little shrug. He's still new to this in general, let alone new to the whole talking about being a superhero so opening thing.]

I don't mind. I'm still pretty new to this stuff so. Hearing about others and how they have dealt with it helps?

Blue and red are really popular colours. Maybe not always together - there's a few notable heroes in my world that really have the combination locked down as iconic.

[ Tim nods at this - he gets it. He wouldn't be able to do it without his adopted family or his friends, almost all of whom are in the business. He couldn't imagine doing it alone. Miles isn't alone, but new implies that he might not know a lot of other heroes yet. ]

I know Dick already sort of did an Ask Me Anything, and I'm definitely not a Spider-, but I'm definitely a pro at hiding it from parents, how to do just enough homework to not get in trouble, and how to hide costumes for strategic quick changes.

I guess. I'm just barely starting to know what colours are popular. Outside of knowing the Spiders, I mean.

[Even then. Noir and Gwen were doing their own thing colour wise compared to the rest with the blue and red combination. And Miles having his own look with the black instead of blue.]

But that. That could help. Yeah. Still figuring a balance with the homework and patrol. No idea how long I'll manage to hide it from my parents but I know dad isn't a fan of the other Spider-Man......
