making your insomnia everyone else's problem [video]
[ It's late, like, super late. Like 'if any of us had a clock to go off it'd probably read 3am' kind of late. The stars are shining clear in the sky and the only light on the feed is from the Heartstone, not even a fire. Wherever Cammie's settled, she's not right next to anyone else in the group for some reason or another.
Cammie is also, notably, not on any watch rotation. Also also, she's totally human, aka: neither nocturnal, nor able to get by without sleeping at all. She's fastening her ears back around her ponytail, as the live feed starts, which means she probably at least gave sleeping a go—there's even some makeshift blankets wrapped around her shoulders—but she's awake now, looking tired as anything but perky, too. Only the particular observant may note the slightly haunted look beneath the teenage bravado and energetic way she speaks. ]
Christ, I'm bored. What's a girl s'posed to do around here when it's too dark an' cold out to go on a walk or somethin', eh? Call me addicted to technology all ye like, but the Ether's a blessin' when—
[ She coughs, does not finish that sentence. She admits she's up because of nightmares and precedent from home tells her someone will stage an intervention. ]
Anyway. Some of youse must still be up, aye? Anyone wanna play like— what did people play before the Ether... —2 truths 1 lie? Truth or dare? Hell, I'd say 20 questions but I think the multiverse makes that kinda complicated. Imagine someone picks somethin' only found in their universe. Practically amounts to cheatin' and ye might not even know ye doin' it.
...but, seriously, I'm goin' out of my mind doin' nothin' right now, surely I cannae be the only one?
[ There's a nonzero chance this broadcast wakes up people who weren't, actually, already awake at 3am, but Cammie's decided that's worth the risk right now. Sorry everyone. ]

[Still, despite the sarcastic commentary Ange just said and the ridiculous time for games and everything, she's in a good mood...
...at least until she processes what she heard. 'Gone months now'. Wait, is this one of the bunch that keeps talking about a rig? Ange tries to remember, but doesn't recall]
Have you...been here for that long?
[She really hopes Cammie hasn't been stuck with these spirits' demands for that long. It's not like Ange has anything too urgent to return to, technically, but she would prefer not to take a months-long detour!
Tough luck, Ange, you will]

Oh if I play anythin’ it’ll be Siege. Yaz tellin’ me off might even make me feel like I’m home instead of annoyin’ me, just the once.
[ She flashes a cheeky smile with that comment, then her expression evens out as she shakes her head. ]
Not here specifically, I was on that rig some of us keep mentionin’. Think it was at least six months there. Totally new clock tickin’ here.

What was all that about a rig, exactly? I have been meaning to ask that for a while.
[This rig people keep mentioning was not a pleasant time, if the vague snippets she has heard via mirror conversations is any indication!]

Oh, geez. It was bad. Y'know the way we woke up here? Yeah, well, whenever someone like us woke up back in that place, this company called Jorgmund snatched us up and like. Enslaved us. Implanted us with shock collars an' made us do their dirty work.
[ She pulls a face. Christ she is glad that the collars are gone, now. ]
There'd been a war with bombs that erased information from matter and left behind this nasty thing called Stuff. They made us deal with problems caused by it and all sorts. It sucked.

'Stuff'? That's the best name they could come up for whatever that was?
no subject
Apparently! Real creative, isn't it? Makes ye sound like ye talking nonsense sometimes, I swear. An' it doesn't at all get across how nasty it can be. Could turn into anythin' ye could think of, literally.
[ She's also extremely glad to be far, far away from the Stuff. It freaked her out, even showed up in some of her nightmares in place of nanotech. ]

[Given what happened in her first day and evening in this world she's pretty sure all sorts of wacky, weird adventures will happen]

I hate that I cannae say otherwise, honestly. Fuck knows what else is gonnae happen to us now we're here, magic might be just as unpredictable as Stuff ever was, just in a different way.
[ Isn't that a reassuring prospect. ]
