So, with a group this size sooner or later we're going to start needing keeping an inventory of what we have on hand. Food, weapons, ammunition, medical supplies and who has what, that sort of thing. Strictly speaking it's not exactly necessary at the moment, but otherwise there's no reason not to do it.

[Nog pauses. There's probably going to be at least a couple of objections, and Nog wouldn't blame anybody who had some. There's no reason to trust him or anybody else at the moment.]

This voluntary, by the way. If there's something you don't want me to know you have, I'll respect that. As long as you aren't planning on using it to hurt anyone here.

Did it work? Wouldn’t it just be one more thing for to distract you? Because it’s a lot of lessons to really learn it properly.

Had a lot of energy when I was a pup. My brother was learnin' an' I showed interest, so my fat'er got me into lessons, too. Dat was...nearin' fifteen years 'go now.

You've been studying for longer than me.

[ Which makes Tim very curious about skill level. Some people "study" for 15 years, but entirely for fitness within classes. Some people aggressively chase the prestige of a black belt and competitions. Some people like to show off. ]

Been tol' I'm pretty decent. 'Course, couldn' hurt to keep in practice wit' somebody else dat knows what dey're doin'.

[He's better than just decent, but it never hurts to be underestimated, either. At first, at least.]
