[TEXT] Wishing Well

[Henry is not the one with the most social skills out there, definitely not, but he can still make himself useful and he won't hesitate, especially when he knows that Eileen is in danger. He might not be able to help her from here, but if he contributes to whatever this new mission is he will be able to go home sooner, or at least he wouldn't waste time.

So there he is, walking through the woods and using his great sense of direction to make a map - sure came in handy in Silent Hill. Now that he promised Tommy he would make him one, he has to, so he might as well get to it immediately. After he's done with his touring of a medium-large area - he won't go too deep in the woods or caves without finishing the map first or without backup, he's dumb but not that dumb - he copies it onto the mirror with his crayon, broadcasting it for everyone.]

Hi everyone, I'm Henry. I'm making a map of the area, here is what I have so far. Let me know if you can see it.

[The map has a clear indication of where the common area is, but now there is an arrow being added next to a circular shape.]

I am here. I found what seems to be a wishing well? It says that if you toss a coin it will make your wishes come true through magic. I don't want to try it, but if you do just follow the directions, you will get here in no time.

[Elle lunges for him as she sees him slip, her finger grazing his shirt as he falls just out of reach.

Well, fuck. Elle sighs deeply. Why is she cursed to be surrounded by adult men with no sense of self-preservation?

She walks over and peaks down over the side, both to get a sense for the depth and to make sure Henry hasn't gotten eaten by a well-monster, or something.

Her expression says "I don't know why I thought that this would go any different".
]

Is it everything you dreamed?

[She asks, very sarcastically.]

[...]

Fuck.

[It's quiet so the literal child nearby doesn't hear her swear. Because she's nice like that. She turns to the mirror and the people in their vicinity. She is-- very frustrated.]

Alright, who's strong enough that they can hold up a full-grown idiot?

[It's all too easy for her to call on her Rage and shift into Crinos. Now she's now over 8 feet tall and radiating an aura of fury.]

Because this is gonna be a two-man job.

I can lift that much with TK, unless they're a very large idiot.

[She means the size of the idiot, not their idiocy.]

[TK? Elle doesn't know what that means, but if Kerrigan's offering she'll will take it.]

The idiocy is giant; the idiot, not so much. I can hold you and you can grab onto him, then?

...Or we could just leave him.

[Elle isn't being serious, but a part of her wishes she was.]

How deep's the well?

[Kerrigan's already jogging in the direction of that cluster of minds, her mirror floating along with her.]

[personal profile] millenyal_pink 2021-12-06 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Just about 15 feet from what I can tell. Not much deeper than that, at least.

[She peers over again, this time in Crinos. Yup, that sure is a grown man stuck at the bottom of a well. Maybe it would be more appropriate for one of the werewolves to rescue him...]

[personal profile] zerg_rush 2021-12-06 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, okay, that's in range.

[Since Elle didn't ask, Kerrigan's assuming she knows TK is telekinesis.]

[When Kerrigan reaches the well, Elle gives her a fang-filled grin.]

Alright, I'll brace myself then drop you down.

[She climbs onto the wall on the well.]
zerg_rush: (15 - 04)

[personal profile] zerg_rush 2021-12-06 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Wow, Elle, you sure are a cat monster. Fortunately, Kerrigan's used to Stacia.]

Wait, what? Nobody needs to get in the well.

[personal profile] millenyal_pink 2021-12-06 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Elle pauses, turning back to Kerrigan. Her ears twitch and her head tilts in confusion.

Why wouldn't they need to get in the well? Is Kerrigan voting for keeping him down there? Elle wouldn't blame her, he certainly got himself into this mess, but she wasn't actually planning on leaving him. Even if he deserved it. Because he decided that climbing into a mysterious magic well was a good idea. Elle has been holding out hope that the adults are all reasonable human beings-- clearly not.
]

Why not?
zerg_rush: (15 - 11)

[personal profile] zerg_rush 2021-12-06 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I told you. I'm a telekinetic.

[Get with it, Bryant.

Kerrigan plants her hands on the rim of the well and leans over, far enough to see Henry but not far enough to be at any risk of joining him.]

Hey! Time to go!
millenyal_pink: (form- crinos)

[personal profile] millenyal_pink 2021-12-06 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
[She's what? When did she-- oh. TK. That makes sense. Well, there goes Elle's grand plan.

Elle climbs off of the well.
]

That probably makes things easier.

[Elle was kind of looking forward to see Henry dangling as they pulled him up but. Well, that seems pretty immature, now.

Elle's still going to lord this over his head, though, because he absolutely deserves.
]

TK away!

[Kerrigan's powers don't come with comic book effects. Her eyes narrow in concentration and her hands tighten on the rim of the well, and the only visible result is Henry rising into the air. She tries to strike a balance in speed between getting the idiot out of the hole in the ground with expediency and not causing said idiot to freak out and conk his head.

Being lifted by telekinesis is an odd experience. The feeling is more like being buoyed in water than being picked up, the force supporting all of Henry's body evenly.]
millenyal_pink: (form- crinos)

[personal profile] millenyal_pink 2021-12-07 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, at least he's not freaking out.

A part of Elle kind of hopes that Kerrigan dumps him on his ass when he gets back out of the well. This is a petty and uncharitable part of Elle that relishes idiots looking like, well, idiots. This is a part she tries to avoid indulging, most of the time.
]

That's... pretty cool. And convenient. Can you use it on yourself?

[If so, Kerrigan could make herself fly, which is objectively really cool. She wonders if it only works on whole objects or can be used on single parts, or if it can only be used on something she can see. Could she break a single part of a piece of machinery? Could she use it on someone's internal organs without being able to observe them? That's kind of violent and morbid, but still potentially useful.

Is it a general sense of awareness that can be focused, or an active effort that can be turned on and off? Does training make it stronger, or does she just have a baseline level of skill that doesn't really change?

To put it mildly, Elle has a lot of probing questions about this super-cool, potentially super useful, ability that she's trying really hard to be respectful and not ask.
