001: GROUP INTRODUCTIONS

Okay, so everything's settled down a bit and people have stopped trickling in. Great. What a situation we're in, right? We can't even wander too far away or we're teleported right back to the group.

[She's definitely going to be testing those boundaries later.]

Anyhow, I'm willing to accept that this probably isn't a Rig mission now. Wherever we are, it's not the same world. The level of technology isn't too high either, but we know someone out there has a radio transmitter or else the big yellow guy wouldn't keep playing songs at us.

So, since we're stuck together for the foreseeable future, it's probably time we settle in and get to know one another. Names, skillsets, dreams, etc. You know, important things. Don't hold back, we're probably going to need to know each other pretty well if we're going to survive here.

[ Lloyd actually doesn't bat an eyelash at that, he...died once. Then his tiny adopted daughter rewrote reality to fix it. Weirdness is just gonna be everyone's way of life now. ]

If whatever's responsible for this has that much power, that probably isn't as much of an obstacle as it should be.

Apparently not. I thought I was just a glorified AI when I was in Svelte, but... [ she gestures broadly ] here I am, flesh and blood. I'm certainly not complaining about that, at least.

Nothing to do but make the most of it, right?

Exactly. It sounds like this is an improvement for anyone from that rig, too. So... make of it what we can.

[ She doesn't entirely feel as confident in that as she's pretending she is, but she wants to. It is better to be alive and not stuck as a digital ghost. But god, she misses her friends and her partner. ]

I'd just as soon I had the rig and Tio wound up here, in that case, but it can't be helped. I just hope if these guys are all out in one piece, that means she is, too.

From what little I know, people who go leave these places in one way or another do just... go home. Maybe even back to exactly when they left. So I'd say she should be, if that means anything.

[ Lloyd's a fairly heart-on-his-sleeve kind of guy, and he's clearly relieved by that knowledge. Tio is like a little sister; despite her many talents, he can't help but want to bodyblock anything mean that's coming in her direction. ]

I had people disappear from Svelte, a few times. Knowing they probably just went home made it at least a little easier not to worry about them.

[ Optimism is one of his talents, thankfully. ]

[ It's the opposite of CT's talent, but these days she always makes a valiant effort to not go full pessimist at least. ]
