Okay, if you were at the faire and are now at the camp, speak up. I want to get a head count.
I'm Tex, by the way. I'm not the leader or anything, I just want to get things a little bit organized.

Not the leader of what? Is there a previously-established gang of Chosen Ones running around, or are we all new arrivals here in this mess?
[ That's what the spooky sisters had addressed them as, 'Chosen Ones'. It's better than 'New Hires', at least. ]

I believe I like these even less than the devices we were issued on the Rig.

You're not the first person to mention that place. What was it?

Only a fool would try to take leadership or any responsibility over any of us here, anyway.
[So...in a way Ange approves that Tex immediately said she's not taking the leadership. Do they even need a leader? Probably. Would Ange look kindly onto anyone who tries to take it? Most likely not. She's just a difficult person, that's all]

You know, you're probably right. But we'll probably have some fool speaking up sooner or later to do that.

I'll probably go around in the morning and get something more accurate for a head count but for now I want to see what responses I get this way.

...I think there's more information than a head count that we need to start exchanging, but I'm not sure how many people are going to be up for that right off the bat.

I want it on the public record that I enjoy star gazing, long walks on the beach, and love to laugh.

[After a pause:] Just be careful that organization don't turn into any rules or nothing.
no subject
I'm not saying we need a lot of rules, but a few established guidelines that everyone agrees on might be necessary so that we don't all end up dead or worse depending on our situation.

In my experience, feeling magically compelled to do anything is a good sign to go in the opposite direction.

You see things on the news sometimes, when some of the really famous crooks break out of Arkham, reminding everyone what the warning signs are for kind control. People not being able to explain why they want to do something is number two on the list.

...which, if anyone needs an explanation for what that is, I suppose the closest pre-warp example would be an interstellar Navy?

Name's Remy LeBeau. Also go by Gambit, if anybody's got a pref'rence for code names. Run wit' some superhero folk back home. Dis...ain't de weirdest t'ing I seen even dis week, though.

I've noticed at least three dozen different people since everyone began settling down, but it's hard to say for sure. Organizing enough to be certain might require someone to actually take that position as leader.

Cammie MacCloud, reporting for duty, or— whatever.
[ Cammie gives an animated wave. The cheery exterior may be a little bit affected, especially today. ]
Christ, we've got a real mix of newbies and familiar faces here.

I'd like to go to sleep for the next, you know, decade and a half, but I made it in one piece, so you can officially count me too.

[That's largely because he stayed at the faire a long-ass time, right up until the place was nearly abandoned and swarming with monsters. And he only cut out then without checking it was entirely clear because Tim was not doing so good and needed help getting out.]
[He sets his mirror to float a few feet away as he works on picking little burs out of his muddy jeans, his expression annoyed that they actually hurt, what the fuck. He hates not having invulnerability.]
Ow. My name's Kon-El, Kon for short, hi.
So three questions: One, what are we doing about building a fire tonight and setting watches for the Sanderson sisters and what I assume are some sub-species of slenderman?
Two, what are we doing about getting supplies and stuff tomorrow when it's safer to gather them? We'll have to organize that.
Three, where the hell are we going after this? Because that weird teleportation thing sure seemed to group us all together. It might have to be a "we" thing.
And four, does anyone happen to have an extra shirt? This is 100% cotton - or like...80% cotton since 20% of it got shredded off, and it's feeling a little chilly right now. I sweated right through everything I'm wearing.
[crayon]
I can keep a watch. Not alone, ideally, but I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Is there a plan for if they are managing to follow? I can fly back a ways to scout, but obviously that precludes keeping watch.
[Also he's getting tired, but he thinks he can manage if he glides at a leisurely pace instead of doing all that diving and takeoffs and passengers and dodging trees.]
And if you're truly desperate, I still have what I was assigned on the Rig. My preferred human morph is probably smaller than you are, though.
Voice.
